About The Position

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking an integrated outpatient clinician to provide co-occurring mental health and substance use services to clients in Granite City or Belleville, Illinois. The role supports clients in self-directed recovery and uses a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approach emphasizing hope, respect, empowerment, health and wellness, and connection. The clinician applies evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy practices and connects clients with community resources. Chestnut is an integrated health care provider with more than 800 employees serving patients in Illinois and Missouri through behavioral health, substance use, and primary care services, and also conducts research and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five years of supervised mental health experience.
• Obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certification within two years of hire.
• Willingness to train in the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and obtain CRA certification within three months following training.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and an electronic medical record.

• Promote the recovery model of treatment, including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health and wellness, and spirituality and connectedness.
• Use evidence-based practices focused on individual, family, and group therapy.
• Link clients to community resources, including DCFS, probation and parole, courts, medical care, and natural supports.
• Promote positive interactions within Chestnut and with the community to sustain a favorable program reputation.
