About The Position
ChristianaCare is seeking a casual Outpatient Cardiac Sonographer to work at its Rehoboth Office for 8 hours, one day per week. The role performs diagnostic echocardiograms in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography standards and assists physicians in diagnosing cardiac disease. The sonographer provides quality, quantitative examinations for adult and geriatric patients, accurately presents completed studies to physicians, and recognizes normal and abnormal echocardiograms. Intravenous experience for contrast and bubble studies is preferred.
Requirements
- Certification from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT), or be a new graduate of an accredited ultrasound program who meets registry eligibility.
- CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- Intravenous experience to perform contrast and bubble studies preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform 2D, M-Mode, CW, PW, and Color Flow Doppler echocardiograms.
- Provide quality and quantitative echocardiograms for adult and geriatric populations.
- Accurately present completed echocardiograms to physicians.
- Recognize normal and abnormal echocardiograms.
- Assist physicians in the diagnosis of cardiac disease.
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms in adherence to American Society of Echocardiography standards.
