About The Position
ChristianaCare is seeking a casual Outpatient Cardiac Sonographer to work at its Rehoboth office for 8 hours, one day per week. The role performs diagnostic echocardiograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography and assists physicians in diagnosing cardiac disease. The sonographer performs studies for adult and geriatric patients, recognizes normal and abnormal findings, and accurately presents completed echocardiograms to physicians. IV experience for contrast and bubble studies is preferred.
Requirements
- Certification from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT), or graduation from an accredited ultrasound program with eligibility for registry.
- CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- IV experience for performing contrast and bubble studies.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms in adherence to the American Society of Echocardiography.
- Assist physicians in the diagnosis of cardiac disease.
- Perform 2D, M-Mode, CW, PW, and Color Flow Doppler echocardiograms.
- Provide quality and quantitative echocardiograms for adult and geriatric populations.
- Accurately present completed echocardiograms to physicians.
- Recognize normal and abnormal echocardiograms.
