About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) according to criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role includes participating in process-improvement activities to support clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. As part of a High Reliability Organization, the RN focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency. The job profile is an overview of responsibilities and may change; it is not an exhaustive list.

Requirements

• Associate degree required.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio, or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health-status assessments as applicable to the patient population and individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions, based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document patients’ responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revise plans of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate actively in process-improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards, with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
