About The Position

The Outdoor Adventure Guide leads outdoor activities and tours, which may include snowmobiling, sporting clays, backcountry off-road vehicle tours, backcountry dinner nights, and e-bike tours. The guide is responsible for guest safety, providing instruction and information, and delivering a positive guest experience. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following safety procedures, assisting with administrative tasks, and educating guests about local regulations and environmental conservation.

This is seasonal work, with positions available throughout the season and start dates around the end of November and beginning of December. The schedule may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position is based at 10 Snowshoe Drive, Snowshoe, WV 26209, and affordable on-mountain employee housing is available for rent.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program.
• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• May require lifting and moving up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of safety practices.
• CPR or first aid certification.
• Previous outdoor adventure tour leadership, especially in snowmobiling, off-road vehicles, shooting sports, or biking.
• Strong leadership abilities to guide groups effectively outdoors.
• Familiarity with local geography, trails, and conservation principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead outdoor tours and activities, guiding guests along scenic trails, providing instruction, and ensuring participant safety.
• Organize and oversee sporting clays activities, including setting up shooting stations and guiding participants in shooting techniques.
• Lead backcountry off-road vehicle tours, highlighting points of interest and maintaining participant safety.
• Guide e-bike tours and share information about local flora, fauna, and landmarks.
• Set up and serve guests during backcountry dinner nights.
• Provide customer service and respond to guest inquiries and concerns throughout the experience.
• Maintain equipment used for tours, including snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, e-bikes, and safety gear.
• Follow safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and implement emergency response plans when necessary.
• Assist with tour scheduling, payment processing, and maintaining accurate guest and tour records.
• Stay informed about local regulations, conservation efforts, and outdoor recreation practices, and educate guests accordingly.
