About The Position

Covetrus is seeking a part-time Outbound Warehouse Associate, also described as a DC Team Member, at its Colonial Heights, Virginia distribution center. The role is responsible for accurately fulfilling and shipping customer orders. The location offers a climate-controlled, small-team environment, and the schedule is Monday through Wednesday. Weekend work is rare, though mandatory overtime during the normal workweek may be required as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read and understand English to read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, material-handling equipment such as order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime during the normal workweek as needed.
Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and up to 50–70 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

Six months of work experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Pull products accurately and efficiently from stock for customer orders using printed pick lists.
Fill orders with products having the earliest expiration dates first.
Pack orders carefully, checking that products match the customer invoice, quantities are correct, and all required brochures and materials are included.
Ship products in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations, including proper labeling, packaging, and logging of hazardous materials and limited quantities.
Ensure manifest documents are accurate and use the most economical available shipping method.
