About The Position

Covetrus is seeking a part-time Outbound Warehouse Associate for its Colonial Heights, Virginia distribution center. The associate fulfills and ships customer orders in a climate-controlled, small-team environment. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, and the position rarely requires weekend work. The role involves pulling and packing orders accurately and shipping products in compliance with applicable Department of Transportation requirements, including rules for hazardous materials. Mandatory overtime during the normal workweek may be required as needed to support timely customer delivery. The position requires no prior work experience and requires applicants to be at least 18 years old. Candidates must be able to read and understand English product information, perform basic math, and operate or learn material-handling equipment. The work involves standing and walking on concrete for the shift, bending, stooping, reaching, and regularly lifting or transporting 30 pounds, with occasional lifting of 50–70 pounds. Work may occasionally take place in a cooler environment of 35°–46°F. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and drug screening, including marijuana testing. Covetrus maintains a drug-free workplace under the Drug Free Workplace Act.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read and understand English to interpret product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, material-handling equipment such as order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime during the normal workweek as needed.
Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and 50–70 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

Responsibilities

Pull products from stock accurately and efficiently for customer orders using printed pick lists.
Select products with the earliest expiration dates first.
Pack orders carefully, verifying that products match the customer invoice, quantities are correct, and required brochures and materials are included.
Ship products according to Department of Transportation regulations, including proper labeling, packaging, and logging of hazardous materials and limited quantities.
Ensure shipping manifest documents are accurate and use the most economical available shipping method.
