About The Position

Constellation is seeking engineering students for a paid, approximately 10-week internship running June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. The internship is in person in Pasadena, Texas. Interns work on specific projects to gain hands-on experience, working independently under an assigned supervisor and technical mentor. The Outage Services Engineering Intern assists with planning and implementing turbo-machinery outages, from initial planning through completion, and with repairs to gas and steam turbine components. The intern periodically reviews unit operating status and tracks component repairs from technical and financial perspectives. The role also provides opportunities to learn how to develop optimized outage work scopes to reduce outage turnaround times across the Calpine turbine fleet, develop and maintain specialty tools, and help plants plan spare-parts inventories and make outage recommendations.

Requirements

Be a rising junior, senior, or master's student pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited college or university.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future.
Demonstrate coding skills using Matlab, Python, or similar tools.
Have strong Excel skills, including Vlookup, Sumifs, Pivot Tables, and Macros.
Demonstrate modeling aptitude by creating complex Excel models.
Be able to apply analytical tools such as Tableau.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Have good problem-solving and analytical ability.
Have good organization skills and attention to detail.
Be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment.
Be able to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities.
Have reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the energy industry, specifically the power or utility sector.

Responsibilities
