About The Position

A major nationwide carrier is hiring solo and team OTR dry van drivers. The carrier primarily operates in the Midwest, South, and Southeast, with no deep Northeast service. Drivers average 2,800–3,200 miles per week and are advertised as earning an average of $2,300+ weekly. Pay is 1099. Solo drivers earn $0.70 per mile on all miles; team drivers earn $0.90 per mile. The posting also mentions $0.75 per mile on loaded and empty miles, but separately specifies $0.70 per mile for SAP drivers on all miles. Pay may increase by up to $0.05 per mile after six months. Freight is 99% no-touch, with drop-and-hook as well as live-load and unload work. Drivers may be out for 19 days followed by 3 days off, or 4 weeks followed by 7 days off. Equipment includes late-model automatic Volvo, Freightliner, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks equipped with refrigerators. Orientation is one day in Miami, Florida, with travel provided.

Requirements

Be at least 24 years old.
Have at least 2 years of OTR tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years; training does not count toward this experience requirement.
SAP drivers must be on Step 6 with RTD testing completed, or have completed the program.

Responsibilities

Operate an OTR dry van tractor-trailer as a solo or team driver.
Transport freight on routes primarily in the Midwest, South, and Southeast; the carrier does not provide deep Northeast service.
Handle drop-and-hook and live-load or unload freight as needed.
