About The Position

CHOC Specialists is a private pediatric subspecialty group with 26 pediatric subspecialties. The group practices at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) which is a premier healthcare system based in Orange County, Calif. CHOC is exclusively committed to the health and well-being of children through clinical expertise, advocacy, outreach and research that brings advanced treatment to pediatric patients. Pediatric Otolaryngology Division Chief Pediatric Sub-Specialty Faculty (PSF) and Rady Children’s Hospital – OC (CHOC) is recruiting a Division Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology to lead a mature, high-volume, and rapidly expanding comprehensive pediatric ENT program: airway, otology, cochlear implants, sleep, complex head & neck, craniofacial, and reconstruction division with one of the largest cochlear implant programs in California. A regional leader in hypoglossal nerve stimulation (Inspire) for pediatric sleep apnea in children with Down syndrome. The Division Chief will foster a supportive and collaborative environment for the faculty while providing strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for a program that is the sole exclusively pediatric ENT group in Orange County and among the most comprehensive pediatric ENT services in Southern California.

Requirements

  • Ten years post-fellowship experience in Pediatric Otolaryngology
  • Minimum of five years progressive responsibilities in medical leadership within a division, medical staff/committees, or other related leadership roles
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency
  • Completion of Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship
  • Must be board certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and certified or eligible in complex pediatric otolaryngology.
  • California medical license or eligible

Responsibilities

  • Leading and growing clinical programs and expanding geographic reach.
  • Overseeing faculty recruitment, development, and mentorship
  • Optimizing clinic and surgical access through collaboration with hospital leadership
  • In partnership with the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, Irvine, expanding resident education and developing a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship.
  • Advancing a clinical and translational research agenda with institutional support
  • Working with PSF leadership in ensuring that the Division aligns with institutional values.
