About The Position

Provide direct support to health-care professionals and patients by performing a variety of assisting tasks. Maintain a safe, clean and organized care environment while following established policies and infection control practices.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing and moving patients for extended periods.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and maintain required immunizations.
• Basic computer literacy and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate or training in health services, or completion of relevant on-the-job training is an asset.
• Previous experience in a health-care or caregiving environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moving, transferring and positioning patients using safe handling techniques and equipment.
• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding as directed by clinical staff.
• Prepare, transport and deliver patients, specimens, supplies and equipment within the facility.
• Clean, disinfect and sterilize equipment and patient areas, and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Take basic observations such as vital signs and record findings accurately in patient charts or electronic records.
• Support clinical and administrative staff with tasks including restocking, clerical duties and maintaining documentation.
