About The Position

Provide specialized tutoring on content specific to the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program. The OTA program teaches the practices, techniques, and equipment needed to help patients of all ages take part in educational, vocational, and leisure skills. Expert faculty and hands-on clinical experience will prepare our students to complete an associate degree and take the national certification exam.

Requirements

Domicile in the State of Texas while working for the college and throughout the duration of employment.
Expertise in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program content, practices, techniques, and equipment.
Ability to provide individualized and/or small-group tutoring.
Skills in assessing student learning needs and developing targeted tutoring plans.
Ability to monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
Commitment to remaining current in the field through professional development.
Ability to collaborate with OTA faculty.

Responsibilities

Provide tutoring for courses in the field of Occupational Therapy to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
Provide individualized and/or small-group tutoring to students enrolled in OTA program courses.
Assess student learning needs and develop targeted tutoring plans to address identified academic gaps in the OTA courses.
Monitor student progress and maintain documentation of tutoring sessions, attendance, and outcomes as required.
Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities.
Collaborate with OTA faculty to identify common areas of student difficulty and align tutoring support with course learning outcomes.
