About The Position

Assists OSP Records Supervisor and staff with engineering and equipment assignment record keeping duties through the use of software including but not limited to GIS and Sharepoint, understanding and knowledge of Network equipment and close coordination with all Network personnel and utilization of OSP drawings and other available technical resources and tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two year drafting diploma from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and insurable record.
  • Must pass pre-employment screen, physical and background checks.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, company order system, GIS systems and Auto Cad.
  • Must communicate effectively with vendors, contractors and employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Database expertise is highly desired.
  • Desired qualifications of subject matter expert on Sharepoint and integration requirements for systems used for order processing, GIS and CPR
  • Maintain expert knowledge of various software programs including Auto-CAD, Vetro, GIS, Sharepoint and Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and maintenance of OSP cable, assignment and electronic facilities in a GIS System such as Vetro and Autocad.
  • Serve as primary contact with vendors for software upgrades and other data base activities as assigned.
  • Create and provide various maps and schematics as requested by OSP Design for planning and design studies.
  • Assist OSP Design group in creating Work Order Prints for installation of fiber facilities.
  • Maintain and update detailed fiber route maps for all companies in GIS system.
  • Review and process service order requests and assist in any record request for cable locates as needed.
  • Provide OSP field personnel with information on cable pair, route, PED, and customer information.
  • Assist with damage investigation reports and collect data to support submissions for asset loss control.
  • Interpret As-Built prints from Work & Maintenance Orders and post to permanent records on a timely basis.
  • Assist OSP Design group in developing and maintaining Long Range Outside Plant Planning documentation.
  • Create and provide various maps or schematics as requested by other departments for presentations/reports for regulatory agencies such as NECA, FCC or Tax studies.
  • Pre-qualification of customers for services such as voice, Video and other broadband services when required.
  • Maintains compliance to all relevant OSHA, safety, or departmental standards as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain MSAG accuracy and compliance to meet E911 AT&T regulatory requirements, supporting the integrity of phone service records and emergency response location data.
