About The Position

The OSP/ISP Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) telecommunications infrastructure. This includes copper and fiber optic cabling, network hardware, and associated equipment in both outdoor and indoor environments. The technician will work closely with engineering teams, site managers, and other technicians to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed
  • Hands-on experience with installing, terminating, and testing fiber optic and copper cabling
  • Knowledge of OSP/ISP cabling standards, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Experience with cable testing equipment such as OTDR, TDR, and Fluke testers
  • Familiarity with BICSI, TIA/EIA, and NEC codes
  • Proficiency in conduit bending, cable routing, rack and panel installation
  • Skilled in safe use of ladders, lifts, and basic power tools
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications cabling, including both OSP and ISP environments

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI Installer 1 or 2 certification preferred
  • Fiber Optic Certification (e.g., ETA, FOA) a plus
  • Prior experience in military or government facilities preferred
  • Experience supporting DoD contracts or secure installations is highly desirable
