About The Position

Startech Networks, Inc. is seeking an experienced OSP Field Engineer with U.S. work authorization to join its team in Reno, Nevada. The role requires a thorough understanding of AT&T-related outside plant (OSP) wireline processes and guidelines. The engineer scopes OSP projects and designs, provisions, and documents outside plant fiber-optic cable infrastructure, including underground, aerial, and buried installations. The position also involves understanding manhole and conduit design, pole loading, and right-of-way permit needs. The engineer must be able to read work prints from drafting systems such as AutoCAD and ARAMIS, take field notes according to OSP design principles, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Short business trips may be needed, and weekend work is possible but very infrequent.

Requirements

• Experienced OSP Field Engineer candidate.
• Thorough understanding of AT&T-related OSP wireline processes and guidelines.
• Good customer, vendor, and project management skills.
• Effective communication by phone, email, and in person.
• Ability to maintain efficient working timelines while multitasking across projects.
• Organized and capable of tracking work due dates and expectations.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to take short business trips if needed.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to transfer field notes into a KMZ file.
• Knowledge of Google Earth.
• Understanding of FTTx and AT&T GPON design.

Responsibilities
