OSM Network Technician (Onsite Monitoring)
About The Position
SG Energy Solutions, a leading global electrical, instrumentation & control (I&C), and IT contractor serving GE/FieldCore since 2010, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OSM Network Technician to join our team as a remote 1099 contractor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical onsite monitoring projects across the U.S. and internationally, with extensive travel involved. Requirements
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; 1+ year of hardware or troubleshooting experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and team members
- Basic understanding of networking, server hardware, and IT troubleshooting
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks safely
- Valid driver’s license and passport with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively, including internationally, with flexibility and adaptability
- Safety-conscious mindset with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote contractor capacity
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the customer, GE, and SG Energy Solutions to ensure smooth communication and project execution
- Support on-time installation and commissioning of Onsite Monitoring (OSM) systems at various customer sites
- Identify and troubleshoot IT issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure system integrity
- Manage procurement activities, including obtaining vendor quotes and tracking project costs
- Complete and maintain detailed Server Reports and other documentation as required
- Assist with hardware troubleshooting, system setup, and configuration as needed
- Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and best practices during all onsite activities
- Travel extensively within the U.S. and internationally to customer sites, ensuring timely project delivery
