About The Position

Sentara is currently hiring an Orthopedic Technician to work at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital located in Virginia Beach on Surgery Unit 5B. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The unit is a busy 24-bed unit that treats patients recovering from various surgeries including general, GYN, colorectal, urology, plastics, vascular, and neuro spine. The team is focused on patient mobility and has high patient customer service scores and staff longevity. The Orthopedic Technician, under direct supervision of clinical staff and therapists, is responsible for preparing and cleaning treatment areas, positioning patients, procuring and inventorying supplies, and transporting patients. They also support both clerical and clinical staff in the successful provision of treatment plans.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
One year of prior health care experience preferred
One year of prior patient care experience preferred
One year of prior acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

Preparing/cleaning treatment areas

Transporting patients
Supporting both clerical and clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans
