About The Position

The Orthopedic Tech supports orthopedic care in a foot and ankle setting by performing orthopedic-related activities, assisting staff and patients, maintaining supplies and work areas, and following protocols and employer practices. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification, and at least two years of experience in a clinic, hospital, or surgery center setting. Completion of a certified orthopedic technology training program, a related allied health program with a surgical assistant program, or an accredited medical assistant program is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification/licensure.
Minimum of two years of experience in a clinic, hospital, or surgery center setting.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program.
Completion of an Allied Health program in a related field, with a Surgical Assist program preferred.
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.

Responsibilities

Apply and remove dressings, remove sutures and staples, apply and remove casts and splints, and monitor and distribute durable medical equipment (DME).
Assist staff with other duties, including escorting patients.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations according to protocols.
Maintain work areas and supplies.
Perform associated clerical tasks as assigned.
Maintain a professional appearance and personal conduct.
Adhere to employer work practices.
Work as a team member within all departments.
