About The Position

This is an outpatient coverage role at an Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. The position involves seeing an average of 21 patients per day (PPD) with a patient population of adults. The role is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to extend, and there is one opening. The reason for coverage is a long-term permanent search. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The EMR system used is EPIC, and credentialing takes approximately 21 days.

Requirements

  • Active Georgia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Orthopedic Surgery experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Georgia OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
