About The Position

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UMUCH), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), has an opening available for a full-time BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in Foot and Ankle, to join their robust orthopedic multispecialty group located in Bel Air, MD. UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air was named one of America’s 100 Best hospitals for orthopedic surgery by Healthgrades. The position will join a multispecialty group of 7 orthopedic surgeons specializing in spine, shoulder, hand, and joint. This position is open due to the current foot/ankle surgeon's relocation, so the physician will take over a busy foot and ankle practice. The physician will have the support of an experienced Physician Assistant who enjoys foot and ankle surgery. The surgeon should specialize in ankle reconstruction, arthroscopy, plantar fasciitis, bunionectomies, Achilles tendon repair, hammertoes, Morton's neuroma, and other foot and ankle issues. The position will be primarily based on the campus of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. This role offers an ideal work environment Monday through Friday day shift, with a very manageable call rotation shared among other providers, fostering a healthy work/life balance. There is excellent hospital administration support as well as dedicated in-office support staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation support options to facilitate your transition to Upper Chesapeake Health. There is an opportunity to work in a brand new, state-of-the-art surgicenter and a potential opportunity for ASC ownership.

Requirements

  • License to practice Medicine in the state of Maryland
  • Board Certified in orthopedics
  • Successful completion of foot and ankle fellowship program.

Responsibilities

  • Take over a busy foot and ankle practice.
  • Specialize in ankle reconstruction, arthroscopy, plantar fasciitis, bunionectomies, Achilles tendon repair, hammertoes, Morton's neuroma and other foot and ankle issues.
  • Provide care within a multispecialty group of 7 orthopedic surgeons.
  • Participate in a manageable call rotation shared among other providers.
