The Orthopedic Physical Therapy Resident will spend more than half of their time providing clinical services to patients in three outpatient therapy departments: the Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center, Spine Center, and Pain Center, with mentorship from designated MFB clinical staff. The resident will assume full responsibility for evaluating patients' needs for physical therapy and will plan and execute individual treatment programs in accordance with the laws and regulations of the State of Michigan. Treatment skills will be developed through continuing education, mentoring meetings with physical therapy staff, physicians, and other clinicians. The remaining time will be dedicated to completing assigned didactics, conducting a scientific inquiry project, and assisting with teaching responsibilities at Grand Valley State University as per program requirements. The resident will present their scientific inquiry project findings in Grand Rounds upon completion of the Residency Program. Applications are reviewed four times a year (August 1, November 1, February 1, May 1) with a floating start date based on program openings and applicant availability. Applicants must be in their final year of their DPT school program or currently be a licensed therapist.
