About The Position

Mountain Land Physical Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Orthopedic Resident for a 12-month program focused on advanced orthopedic education and mentorship. This residency is designed to develop highly skilled, evidence-based practitioners and future leaders in the physical therapy profession. Residents will integrate the best available evidence into patient care, collaborate with experienced mentors, and prepare for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) examination. The program is fully funded by Mountain Land Physical Therapy, with no tuition costs for residents. The experience includes advanced clinical practice with dedicated mentorship, specialty experiences such as surgical observation and ultrasound training, and opportunities for leadership and education development through projects and participation in rounds and conferences.

Requirements

  • Current PT licensure or ability to obtain in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in-person in Salt Lake City, Utah during residency.

Responsibilities

  • Work 32 clinical hours per week with dedicated mentorship.
  • Engage in 8 hours per week for didactic learning.
  • Integrate the best available evidence into patient care.
  • Collaborate with experienced mentors.
  • Prepare to sit for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) examination.
  • Gain exposure to orthopedic surgical observation.
  • Collaborate with physicians in clinic.
  • Participate in EMG observation.
  • Undergo musculoskeletal ultrasound training.
  • Complete leadership, service-based, and research projects.
  • Attend monthly spine rounds, in-services, and conferences.
