About The Position

Banner Staffing Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide OT coverage for inpatient acute therapy at Banner North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Banner North Colorado Medical Center - Loveland Campus, and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center. This role emphasizes orthopedic clientele and supports vacations, leaves, and high census days across all three Banner Northern Colorado facilities. The position offers flexible scheduling, typically with shifts from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasionally on weekends and holidays. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within Banner Health facilities and offer flexibility in scheduling, serving as a great way to start a career with Banner Health. Requirements

  • Successfully completed the academic requirements of an educational program in occupational therapy approved by the appropriate governing board.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license from the State of practice.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to become proficient with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient care environment.
  • Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes employment, criminal and education).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient's functional abilities and limitations, determines if intervention is needed, and establishes a plan of care and treatment goals.
  • Completes comprehensive evaluation within the established time frame set by the department, identifies and prioritizes key limiting factors, and establishes treatment goals that are functional, measurable, patient-related, and reflect the key limiting factors.
  • Collaborates with patient and family/caregiver when setting goals and initiates discharge planning.
  • Recommends additions to or modifications of referring orders.
  • Implements individualized treatment plan with consideration to the patient's physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs.
  • Provides skilled treatment in a safe manner and assesses ongoing effectiveness of treatment, modifying the plan of care as indicated.
  • Involves patient and family/caregiver in the treatment and decision-making process.
  • Provides ongoing education to physician, nurse, patient, family/caregiver, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Documents according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies, completing documentation within established time frames.
  • Documents innovative and individualized treatment techniques/plan, and reassesses treatment goals according to department policies.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information to ensure the best possible follow-through of care, including evaluation/treatment results and patient progress to physicians, nurses, patient, family/caregiver, co-workers, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Accepts responsibility to contact physicians for routine or difficult problem-solving to ensure optimal patient outcome and defends treatment rationale with standard practices and/or current literature.
  • Exhibits adaptability in assignments related to caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts, and takes initiative to assist in other patient care areas.
  • Demonstrates appropriate direction and delegation of personnel (COTA, Therapy Technician, student) in compliance with department policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in the training and orientation of new personnel and assures competency of personnel prior to delegation of tasks.
  • Participates in department/facility process improvements and meets productivity standards set by the department.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts concerning patient healthcare.
