About The Position

The Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is dedicated to serving patients with orthopedic needs, from young athletes with injuries to retirees requiring joint replacements. Our multidisciplinary team comprises orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health experts, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists. We handle a variety of orthopedic conditions, including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgeries, and hip, knee, and shoulder reconstructive surgeries. The center operates Monday through Friday to accommodate patient care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum one year experience in a clinical or physician office setting, emergency room, and/or a hospital setting that provides direct patient care with preference given to orthopedic clinic experience.
Excellent communication skills including phone calls, referrrals and electronic records are also required.

Responsibilities

Screens patient and obtains pertinent information.
Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs.
Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.
Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
Proper communication with appropriate clinic departments.
Satellite Clinic Operations
Clinic Preparation
Provides support to the clinic as needed.
