About The Position

Just Orthopedics is seeking dynamic, flexible, and experienced Medical Assistants to join their team in Moore, OK. The role focuses on providing excellent orthopedic care and customer service to adults and children. The Orthopedic MA will assist in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including applying and removing casts, splints, and braces, assisting with orthopedic procedures, preparing patients for examinations, performing x-rays, and providing patient education. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Strong patient care and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and patient safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Ability to lift and position patients when needed
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking
  • Previous experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, emergency care, or medical assisting
  • Knowledge of orthopedic casting and splinting techniques

Responsibilities

  • Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, braces, and orthopedic immobilization devices.
  • Assist with orthopedic procedures such as fracture care, joint injections, reductions, and wound care.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by positioning, draping, and ensuring necessary equipment is available.
  • Removes sutures and staples as directed by the provider.
  • Educate patients on cast care, brace usage, wound care, and post-procedure instructions.
  • Document treatments, procedures, and patient interactions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Maintain and sterilize orthopedic instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor patients for signs of complications such as swelling, circulation issues, or infection and report concerns to the provider.
  • Assist with inventory management of casting supplies, braces, and orthopedic equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic safety policies.
  • Provide general clinical support including rooming patients and preparing exam rooms.
  • Perform x-rays to be read by provider.
