About The Position

Atrium Health's Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join their Inpatient Orthopedic Surgical Sports team at their Union/Union West locations. This APP will support Surgical physicians and function as an integrated member of the Orthopedic Surgical care team, delivering care across operative, perioperative, and clinic environments. This is a full-time opportunity with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Responsibilities include surgical first assist, call coverage, and office clinic coverage. Call days and hours vary and include rotation through weekends and holidays. The APP will also evaluate and manage orthopedic conditions and injuries, support perioperative patient management and surgical coordination, and perform procedures within scope including splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care. They will also interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning.

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina as: Physician Assistant, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Adult-Gerontology ACNP or equivalent acute care certification required)
  • Graduate from an accredited PA or Acute Care NP program
  • National board certification required
  • DEA license required or eligible
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority through appropriate NC governing board
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date
