About The Position

Atrium Health, a leading community-focused academic healthcare system serving North Carolina and South Carolina, is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers for their Inpatient Orthopedic Surgical Sports team at Union/Union West locations. Atrium Health’s Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) is one of the largest Musculoskeletal programs in the country, with an extensive network of physicians across spine, orthopedics, primary care sports medicine, physical medicine, and rehabilitation. This full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will support Surgical physicians and integrate into the Orthopedic Surgical care team, delivering care across operative, perioperative, and clinic environments. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with call coverage including rotation through weekends and holidays. Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina as: Physician Assistant, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Adult-Gerontology ACNP or equivalent acute care certification required)
  • Graduate from an accredited PA or Acute Care NP program
  • National board certification required
  • DEA license required or eligible
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority through appropriate NC governing board
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date

Responsibilities

  • Surgical first assist
  • Call coverage
  • Office clinic coverage
  • Evaluate and manage orthopedic conditions and injuries
  • Support perioperative patient management and surgical coordination
  • Perform procedures within scope including splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning
