About The Position

The Orthopedic Technician supports the clinical activity of the orthopedic provider and orthopedic clinics. The Orthopedic Cast Technician is responsible to coordinate all activities related to casting including casting, order and maintaining of supplies, inventory, and care of equipment. The technician will be responsible for the orderly maintenance and inventory of the Cast Room and designated orthopedic care areas. She/he is responsible for knowledge of, competency and compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department and/or work unit and UCSF Medical Center. The individual will room patients in addition to casting responsibilities. Additionally, adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including telephone and house standards is required.
