About The Position

The Orthopedic Technician applies and removes all forms of splints and casts within the Ortho Clinic and upon request in the inpatient setting. Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of medical field experience with casting and splinting application and removal.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
  • Previous training as an orthopedic technician, medic, or emergency medical technician (EMT).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive and professional behavior.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) or Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT) or 1 additional year of medical field experience with casting and splinting application and removal.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a pediatric orthopedic clinic.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish.
  • Registered Orthopedic Technician.
