Under a physician's direction, this role involves applying and adjusting plaster casts and assembling and attaching orthopedic traction equipment and devices. The technician will assist in patient needs assessment, fitting and finishing services, and applying/removing casts and orthopedic splints. They will also apply and adjust orthopedic devices like braces and compression stockings, provide patient education on equipment use and cast/traction care, monitor patient condition, document care, and maintain examination areas. Responsibilities include assembling/disassembling equipment, ensuring availability for procedures, maintaining medical supplies, and providing organizational and clerical support.
