About The Position

The tentative schedule will consist of 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday, followed by Monday through Wednesday the following week. Training will be onsite in Columbia until the Spring Hill location opens in late spring. Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is the largest orthopaedic surgery group in Tennessee. TOA concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system which allow our patients to live their best life. Ninety plus years later we are advancing the practice of orthopaedic surgery throughout the state. Our Cast Technician plays an important role in the overall care and services to our patients. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an orthopaedic office
  • Minimum basic knowledge of anatomy is needed
  • Exceptional customer service and patient focus.

Nice To Haves

  • college education or trade school preferred
  • Orthopaedic Technician experience is preferred
  • Casting experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Apply, adjust, and remove fiberglass/plaster casts and splints as directed by a physician or physician assistant
  • Inspect and adjust bandages and equipment
  • Provide patient instructions on cast/splint care
  • Maintain, clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments used in the office
  • Assist with administering and applying durable medical equipment when needed
  • Clean and stock cast and procedure rooms
