About The Position
The Limestone Coast Local Health Network is seeking an experienced Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join their dynamic team. This role involves providing exceptional clinical services across Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, and Millicent health sites. The surgeon will contribute to multidisciplinary care, shape future healthcare professionals through teaching and research, and work in a collaborative environment impacting patient care quality. The position is ongoing part-time (0.5 FTE).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
- Proven experience in providing orthopaedic services within a referral network.
- Commitment to quality improvement and teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in research and teaching.
Nice To Haves
- Subspecialty interests are desirable with a requirement for both upper and lower limb fellowship experience as well as an interest in foot & ankle.
- We are not a spinal centre.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality orthopaedic services in alignment with professional standards.
- Provide clinical leadership and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in teaching medical officers, interns, medical students, and allied health staff.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
- Contribute to research and continuous medical education.
