About The Position

Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP (COSSA) is a highly respected, physician-owned pediatric orthopaedic group with six fellowship-trained surgeons serving Florida’s West Central region. With offices in St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Lakewood Ranch, COSSA is the exclusive pediatric orthopaedic partner of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, a nationally ranked children’s hospital. We are recruiting a General Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine to join our established Tampa Bay practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a sports-minded pediatric orthopaedist to build a high-volume clinical and surgical practice within a collaborative, well-established group.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship
  • Board eligible or board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Eligible for Florida medical licensure
  • Eligible for hospital privileges
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a broad spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including fracture care and sports-related injuries
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to high-quality patient care

  • Patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including PAs, athletic trainers, and nursing staff
  • Commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Interest in contributing to clinical education and mentorship within the practice

Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including fracture care and sports-related injuries.
  • Build a high-volume clinical and surgical practice.
  • Develop relationships with local schools, athletic programs, and community sports organizations.
  • Participate in group call coverage (Q6 - APP's take 1st call).
  • Practice across COSSA’s Tampa Bay clinic locations as needed.
