About The Position

Novus Orthodontics in Columbia is seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Orthodontic Assistant to provide outstanding care to children and their caregivers in a team-oriented environment. The role focuses on helping create a positive, kid-friendly experience and supporting orthodontic care that helps children develop lifelong healthy habits. Full-time hours are 30 or more per week, with 8-hour daytime shifts and no nights. Some Saturdays may be required. Training may be available for the right candidate.

Requirements

• X-ray certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• A dependable team player with a strong work ethic.
• A compassionate approach to working with children and creating a positive patient experience.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in an orthodontic practice is preferred; the employer will train the right person.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program is preferred.
• Additional certification or training is a plus.
• Experience with Denticon software or iTero scanners is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Help ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid-friendly environment.
