About The Position

Provides patient care under the supervision of an RN and/or provider in a clinic setting. Applies, modifies, or removes casts and provides cast care instructions under the direction of the provider and/or RN. Assists the team with rooming patients, procedures, phone calls, patient scheduling, and maintaining instruments and supplies. Provides care addressing patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general needs and meets the communication needs of patients and families. Maintains regulatory requirements and follows organizational and department policies, procedures, and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patients’ clinical conditions.

Requirements

• One year of current experience in a hospital, clinic, or health-related procedural area.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required at the time of hire or within three months of hire.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with all members of the surgical team and administrative staff.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology course.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
