About The Position

Under the direction of the Executive Director and President, the Organizing Director/Trainer is responsible for oversight and supervision of Community Organizers while designing and implementing power-building strategies and tactics to support civic engagement work.

Requirements

  • BA or BS from a four-year university or commensurate experience.
  • 3–5 years of training experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of management experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced facilitation skills for small and large group meetings.
  • Strong commitment to social justice, racial justice, and community empowerment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee training of staff, volunteers, and community associates (Vecinos Unidos) in human rights to achieve social justice through organizing.
  • Conduct leadership development trainings.
  • Supervise DHF Community Organizers in Kern, Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties.
  • Coach organizers to meet objectives aligned with strategic and operational plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly departmental meetings.
  • Gather weekly reports from organizers and compile departmental summaries for Executive Director.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with community members, organizers, Executive Director, and President.
  • Coordinate and facilitate planning meetings.
  • Convey the DHF mission in all professional interactions.
  • Participate in DHF fundraising events.
  • Oversee timely data entry of community contacts.
  • Attend staff and director meetings and submit weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support development and execution of organizing strategies aligned with civic engagement goals.
  • Ensure effective coordination between organizing staff and leadership.
  • Represent DHF in community meetings, trainings, and events as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of organizing activities.
  • Oversee data management related to community contacts and campaign tracking.
