The Triage Coordinator serves as the primary referral intake specialist for the Center for Donation and Transplant (CDT), working remotely on a per diem basis with variable shifts hours. The Triage Coordinator responds to hospital-vented referrals via direct phone communication, completes donor suitability evaluations through electronic medical record (EMR) review, and gathers medical history via statewide health platforms. All data is relayed to the Administrator on Call (AOC) to complete suitability screening and dispatch additional resources as required. The Triage Coordinator is also responsible for organ import offer screening to support local transplant centers. The coordinator communicates organ offer data to surgeons for deferral or acceptance and serves as a point of communication between the offering Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) and the accepting transplant center.
