The Organ Recovery Coordinator at LifeShare Carolinas, part of Advocate Health, is responsible for directing the clinical evaluation and management of potential organ donors. This role involves close collaboration with the LifeShare team, hospital staff, physicians, and surgeons, applying critical care principles such as hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. The coordinator must interact with grieving families and staff with compassion, make appropriate decisions regarding case complexity, and escalate issues when necessary. Adherence to policies from various regulatory and accreditation bodies, including LifeShare, Advocate Health, DSA Hospitals, AOPO, CMS, and UNOS, is essential. The position also involves active participation in quality assurance and performance improvement, following the direction of the Administrator on Call and/or Medical Director. Additionally, the coordinator will conduct rounding and in-services in Donor Services Area (DSA) hospitals to identify potential donors and raise awareness.
