About The Position

This position involves taking room service orders over the phone, answering questions about menu selections, and coordinating with kitchen staff. The role also requires answering guest inquiries about wine origins, vintages, and styles, logging call-back orders, and notifying guests and management of any service delays. Additionally, the Order Taker must communicate special meal requirements, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen, maintain a clean work area, record transactions in the MICROS system, and complete closing reports. Processing payments and adhering to all company policies regarding safety, security, and guest service are also key aspects of this role. This includes maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, developing positive working relationships, and performing other reasonable duties as assigned.

  • No related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Take room service orders over the phone.
  • Answer questions on menu selections, and check with kitchen staff.
  • Answer guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines.
  • Place and log call back for room service order.
  • Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
  • Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order.
  • Complete all closing reports, including MICROS reports.
  • Process all payment methods.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
