About The Position

Responsible for filling stores' orders accurately, safely, and productively, in accordance with corporate policies, standards, and state and federal laws. The position supports the warehouse's continued growth and financial success by using available resources.

Requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of regularly standing, walking, handling objects, tools, or controls, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to identify items to move, gather, or distribute.
• Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sort and place items on racks, shelves, pallets, or in bins according to the specified sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Fill and bill work orders or requests for materials and stock items, and distribute items to production workers.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets or convey them to packing or shipping.
• Mark materials with identifying information and attach identifying tags or labels to materials or containers.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Record quantities of materials or items received or distributed, and enter records using a computer.
• Weigh or count items distributed within the plant to ensure they meet company standards.
• Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Load trucks and convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power jack.
• Operate an industrial pallet jack or power forklift to assist with loading or moving materials and products.
