About The Position

The Order Selector is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting orders, loading and unloading materials, and performing routine inspections of equipment. This role requires the ability to operate various types of pallet jacks and lift trucks, as well as maintain a high level of productivity and safety awareness in a warehouse environment. The position involves physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, bending, crouching, and lifting.

Requirements

Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write simple sentences.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Ability to establish and effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
Ability to maintain a level of production that meets or exceeds the established guidelines.
Ability to work independently without interruptions.
Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines.
Properly count, document or scan the number of units as needed by the function that is being performed.
Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product.
Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality.
Ability to follow a systematic method of performing a task.
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect Team Member safety.
One (1) to two (2) years related experience in a warehouse environment.
Basic scanner technology.
Valid State Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during all busy seasons.
Ability to direct other and delegate tasks.
Forklift Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Pushes, pulls, and steers rolling carts throughout the warehouse for order selection and loading.
Places product into a cart.
Operates a manual pallet jack by pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and into trucks.
Operates an electric “walkie” pallet jack by pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and into trucks.
Operates an electric “riding” pallet jack by pushing, pulling, leading, and steering palletized product throughout the warehouse and while loading trucks, which requires twisting to look in the direction of travel and continually mounting and dismounting equipment to pick product onto a pallet.
Picks product onto a pallet, which requires reaching, pulling, twisting, bending, crouching, and lifting.
Operates a lift truck all shift (certified order selector).
Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to supervisor/maintenance.
Moves controls to drive powered lift trucks and transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, load inverters, elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Applies stretch-wrap under, over, or around unitized skids and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Maintains reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
