About The Position

PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento. A Pitco Foods warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for using a forklift to move and organize materials within a warehouse or distribution center, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A
Must pass Drug Test and Background Check

Responsibilities

Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
Helps our members to load items into their carts, and vehicles and directs them to merchandise.
Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
Stocks shelves, aligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items.
Cuts boxes for display / accessibility of the merchandise and cuts twine and shrink wrap from pallet.
Marks merchandise as needed.
Moves and positions pallets of merchandise.
Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets.
Checks for correct merchandise signs.
Pulls loose cardboard and slip sheets from the floor.
Clears the sales floor of debris and sweeps.
Removes empty pallets from aisles.
Operates pallet jack, forklift, cardboard baler, and trash compactors in a safe manner, keeping away from front end and customer foot/vehicle traffic.
Rewraps loose merchandise.
Placing trash in the appropriate location.
Follows all safety and security procedures.
Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall danger zones.
Follows all established inventory preparation guidelines and requirements.
Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
