About The Position

Ideal Dental is seeking a part-time Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to support patients, oral surgeons, and the dental team. The role assists with surgical procedures, patient preparation and monitoring, imaging, infection control, follow-up care, and office administration. Requirements

• Active Registered Dental Assistant license.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of specific oral surgery experience.
• Willingness to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment; set up trays.
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining procedures.
• Assist oral surgeons chairside during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
• Assist with conscious and IV sedation.
• Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.
• Monitor patient vital signs, such as blood pressure and heart rate, and anesthesia levels.
• Provide detailed post-operative instructions about pain management, infection prevention, and healing.
• Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after procedures.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
• Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
• Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
• Perform X-rays and chart existing and recommended treatments.
• Perform other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team.
