About The Position

Hero Practice Services is seeking an Oral Surgeon to provide preventive and restorative dental care for children. The role includes instructing staff on assisting with patient treatment and educating caregivers and patients about preventive practices. The position reports to the Vice President of Clinical Services. The schedule is 3–4 days per month, with locations in Washington, DC; Landover, Maryland; and Baltimore, Maryland. Compensation is 50% of net production. The successful candidate may also perform other duties that support the business and its mission of providing high-quality, compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.

Requirements

• State dental license in good standing.
• Strong interest in working with children.
• Ability to acquire or maintain a Medicaid Provider number and NPI number.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle a diverse workload.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Nice To Haves

• Board-eligible or certified with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care and service by responding promptly to the needs of patients, caregivers, and team members.
• Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and effectively treat them and perform necessary procedures.
• Educate caregivers and patients about all aspects of treatment and stay informed about the latest dental treatment techniques.
• Help children and caregivers develop excellent oral health habits.
• Participate in team activities and communications, including morning huddles, provider meetings, company events, and email communications.
• Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
• Instruct staff on how to assist in patient treatment.
