Oral Health Program Coordinator

St. David's Foundation•Austin, TX

About The Position

St. David's Foundation is a community-focused and equity-driven organization supporting health and wellness in Central Texas. It is one of the largest health foundations in the United States, funding more than $100 million annually in a five-county area surrounding Austin, Texas. Through a unique partnership with St. David's HealthCare, the Foundation strategically reinvests proceeds from the hospital system back into the community, with a goal of advancing health equity and addressing the needs of the communities facing the greatest health challenges. Beyond grantmaking, the Foundation operates the largest mobile dental program in the country, providing highly accessible, quality oral healthcare, and offers the largest healthcare scholarship program in Texas, the St. David's Neal Kocurek Scholarship Program. Since 2000, the St. David's Foundation Dental Program has provided free dental care to children attending Title I elementary schools in Central Texas (Bastrop, Hays, Caldwell, Travis, and Williamson counties). Serving more than 5,000 patients each year, board-certified dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants deliver high-quality dental care to children and offer evidence-based oral healthcare – including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and oral health education – for children who otherwise may not have access to quality, affordable oral healthcare. During the summer, services are offered at various sites across our region to patients up to 18 years old. The Oral Health Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between dental providers, Head Start programs, Title I schools, community partners and parents, guardians and caregivers. This position coordinates outreach activities, educational programming, screening events, data collection, community partnerships, and implementation of preventative screening initiatives. As part of the Oral Health team, this position educates, promotes, maintains, and improves the oral and general health of children and families in Central Texas using a bilingual, school-and-community based education curriculum and interventions.
