About The Position

This position provides advanced-level technical expertise and support within the Technical Services Section for DWD's Oracle database environment. The successful candidate will be very technically competent, a consistently high producer, and very much a team player. They will have experience with Oracle databases supporting client/server applications. This is an advanced Oracle Application Database Administrator (DBA) role. Best-qualified candidates will have strong Oracle application, OEM, and Erwin experience using Oracle 12.x to 18.x environments.

• Prior experience as an Oracle Application DBA.
• Oracle 12.x & 18.x OLTP/Warehouse databases
• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13

Responsibilities

• Database security administration, research, implementation, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting of database architectures and data management software for various platforms.
• Work with application development staff on logical database design.
• Designing and implementing physical databases including multi-agency OLTP and data warehouse.
• Collaborating on the design and installation of maintenance and upgrades to database software.
• Monitoring performance and making tuning recommendations.
• Estimating database growth for capacity planning; and, problem determination and resolution.
