About The Position

The OR Transporter supports safe, efficient patient flow throughout the hospital by providing patient transport, equipment movement, operating room support and turnover, and general unit assistance. The role helps maintain on-time surgical starts, supports Pre-Op throughput, and ensures patients are safely transported back to inpatient units or procedural areas according to staffing levels and daily volume demands. The OR Transporter collaborates with nursing, anesthesia, physicians, and ancillary departments to improve efficiency, safety, and the patient experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and transport patients and equipment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow directions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Customer service mindset focused on patient experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain it within the required timeframe.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in healthcare, patient transport, hospitality, or a customer service environment is preferred.
