About The Position

Under general supervision, the OR Tech provides technical services and creates and maintains an aseptic environment in compliance with department standards.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of hospital-established policies, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of pre-operative planning and aseptic technique.
• Ability to organize and prepare appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to identify surgical instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in the medical field or specialized vocational training.
• Six months to one year of experience in a surgical setting at a surgical facility or in the Armed Services.
