OR Technician PRN
About The Position
Trios Health, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an OR Surgical Technician for a PRN (as needed) position. This role is crucial for facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. The position reports to the Director of Surgery/OR and serves a wide range of patient populations from neonate to older adult. The role involves access to protected health information including demographic, clinical, insurance, and financial data, as well as complete medical records. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, hazardous medications, and latex is also expected.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Reports to the Director of Surgery/OR.
- Serves Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult patient populations.
- Accesses Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, and Complete Medical Record information.
- Handles occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- Performs frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
- Manages regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
