About The Position

The OR Attendant assists in patient care activities and institutional services in the Operating Room under the direction of a Registered Nurse and according to the departmental policies. The OR Attendant I performs housekeeping and transporting duties and specific institutional nursing service duties appropriate and authorized by the situation.

Requirements

Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions
Ability to read and write English
Ability to perform simple math calculations
Ability to deal with stress while maintaining composure

Nice To Haves

One year of housekeeping and/or transporting experience
High School graduate or equivalent

Responsibilities

Opens department each morning.
Prepares housekeeping cart for the day’s use.
Fills blanket warmer with blankets and fluids.
Assists in putting up supplies from purchasing.
Turns rooms around between cases when necessary.
Assists with transporting, turning and positioning patients.
Run errands as necessary.
Cleans and restocks bathrooms daily.
Cleans and wipes out refrigerator with germicide weekly.
Keeps rooms stocked with specimen containers.
Does general housekeeping duties as needed.
Assists in terminally cleaning of O.R. rooms monthly.
Orders disposable equipment (masks, shoe covers, etc.) weekly.
Documents appropriate data as required by department.
Demonstrates ability to comprehend and follow written instructions, read and write English and perform simple math calculations.
Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
